Greater diversity means greater profitability

In September 2016, The Crédit Suisse Research Institute updated their survey “Gender 3000” and focused specifically on women in senior management. The wide scope of the study (27’000 senior managers mapped in more than 3’000 companies) and its international dimension provide valuable information about the progress which has been made, the main obstacles that remain and their causes (which differ according to the field of activity and to the country), and potential solutions for improvement. The survey also confirms the correlation between gender diversity and profitability as figures show that the ROE increased by almost 20% when the number of women in senior management grew from below 10% to over 15%.
